The mouse pad is made of smooth fabric, which is a mixture of synthetic materials. Mouse pad cover type — speed. It has enough smoothness for fast mouse gliding. But it should be borne in mind that because of the velvety fabric, you will not achieve perfect slip. Use the mouse pad and mice with white PTFE glide for a fast and smooth glide. 

By the way, the mouse pad is packed in a nice fabric bag, which also makes it a great gift.

The mat may not straighten out straight away after unpacking  — leave it for a couple of days and it will be smooth.
