About

O-rings are special rubber rings for quick and budget modding. They help to dampen the sound of keycaps bumping against the keyboard, slightly reduce the travel distance of switches, and allow you to adjust the hardness of keystroke.

We designed these o-rings by ourselves, in the best traditions of Geekboards Lab! They are not a replacement for a modding, but we did our best to make the effect of their use more diverse.

Features

Three variants - three different effects

We've developed several types of o-ring, each with a different effect.

Beige. Thickness 1.5 mm, hardness 40A: the thinnest and softest. Minimise the effect on the keystroke and dampen the noise. The rings are quite thin, so they are suitable for low-profile keyboards and standard keyboards with Cherry profile keycaps.

Yellow. Thickness 2 mm, hardness 80A: universal option with moderate effect, will make low profiles slightly higher. Recommended for all standard keyboards with medium height keycaps - Cherry, DSA, OEM and JDA profiles.

Lilac. 3mm thick, hardness 60A: the thickest, but less hard than the yellow ones. Dampen the noise more clearly, suitable for keyboards with high keycap profiles: XDA, DA, NP, NP, MA, MA, SA, OSA, ASA and MT3.

Can be combined

Different hardnesses and thicknesses allow you to combine o-rings with each other. For example, you can put two beige o-rings to add height but keep the softness of the keystroke. Experiment and find your perfect match!

How to use it

Remove the keycap with the puller, then turn the keycap over and place the o-ring on the stem. It is not necessary to do this all the way in - you can adjust the depth of the fit as you like. You can add one or more rings.

If you have done everything properly, the keycaps will not fall off while typing. If they do, choose a smaller thickness of o-rings.
